"Since 1994 Omsk State University, located in Omsk, a city in the Western part of Siberia, has established a number of co-operation agreements with universities, colleges and English language schools in Australia. Thanks to the support from the AIDAB and the AUSTRADE, the newly created Australian education centre at Omsk State University was able to educate its staff and develop links with many Australian institutions. With growing interest in Australian education we felt it timely to develop a new and unique educational program named "the Russian University in Australia Exchange Program" (RUAP).
The RUAP is aimed to prepare of highly qualified specialists in the fields of international business and information technology coupled with advanced knowledge of English. The program operates in a very unique way where students are able to continue studying their Omsk degree programs by long distance via the Internet, while completing their English and professional programs in Australia. In effect, they have the opportunity to obtain two qualifications at the same time while gaining valuable exposure to Western business practices. The benefits of the program for all concerned are now becoming apparent."
